The Woman Who Outshone The Sun
A beautiful and mysterious woman, connected deeply to the magic of nature, is exiled from a mountain village and takes its water source, the river with her. Through their suffering for what they have lost, the villagers learn important lessons of tolerance, forgiveness, and their impact on the ecosystem. The layers of teachings hidden in this beautiful folktale attune the audience to the cycles of nature, the messages of water, and the magical life that unfolds with living from the heart. Based on a poem inspired by a Zapotec folktale.

Processing Fee of $45 added to all contracts
Provisions:
- 2-3 reserved parking spaces
- 2 long folding tables
- 4 chairs
- Electrical outlet
- Extension cord
- Water for 4 people
- 1-2 people to assist performers with load-in, if possible.
- Someone backstage to run the music for the show
- Dolly or flatbed cart to help transport equipment (if not available, please let AFLMA know)
- Offstage changing room and/or green room
Performance Space: 20’ by 25’ stage (preferred)
Arrival time before first performance: 1 hour
Strike time: 30 minutes
Time needed between performances: 15 minutes.
Teachers are asked to model appropriate audience behavior for students.
