With fiddle, bodhran (Irish drum), banjo, flute, guitar, and bagpipes, Nancy and Calum Bell tell the story of Irish immigrants in Boston, weaving in their songs and poems of work, humor, protest, longing for home, and longing to feel at home in the New World. In addition to providing a rich connection to history curriculum, this program serves as a starting point for meaningful discussions on culture, race, prejudice, and immigration.

Program available in person, or as a pre recorded video including one virtual artist visit.

Single Performance: $825
Additional Performances: $660
Travel: $50 per day
Video Program (one week access+ one virtual artist visit): $600
Additional Artist Visit (30 min): $150
Pricing may vary for weekends/out-of-school time
Processing Fee of $45 added to all contracts

Provisions:

  • 1 reserved parking space
  • 2 chairs without arms
  • Projector Screen (if possible-please let AFLMA know if the artists need to bring their own)
  • Must have the ability to darken room or stage area in order to see slideshow

Arrival time before first performance: 45 minutes

Strike time: 30 minutes

Time needed between performances: 15 minutes

Teachers are expected to model appropriate audience behavior for students.
